Q1. What is the difference between Febreze™ 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners and other 2X concentrated carpet, rug and upholstery cleaners?

A: Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners effectively remove deep-down dirt, eliminate odors and fill the room with the freshness of Febreze when you clean. No other brand does all three. In fact, the Carpet & Rug Institute, the nationally recognized independent authority that tests and evaluates carpet cleaners, provided Febreze 2X Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners with their seal of approval for carpet cleaning effectiveness when used as directed.

Q2. Are Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners for use only in full-size deep cleaning carpet machines?

A: Yes. Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners were designed for use with full-size deep cleaning machines.

Q3. How safe are Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners in my full-size deep cleaning machine?

A: Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners were designed to be effective and safe for use with ANY brand of full-size deep cleaning machine. This includes BISSELL®, HOOVER®, DIRT DEVIL® and RENTAL machines. In fact, an independent, global quality & safety testing lab confirmed that Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners are safe and effective for use in these branded machines.

Q4. What Febreze fragrance are in Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners, Febreze ToughSPOT™ Oxy Stain Remover & Pretreater, and Febreze PET Stain & Odor Remover with Oxygen Action?

A: Febreze Spring and Renewal fragrance.

Q5. How many uses are there with each bottle?

A: Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners are 2X concentrated formulas. Each 60 fl oz bottle makes up to 30 gallons of carpet cleaning solution when water is added. The amount of uses per bottle depends on your deep cleaning machine. Please refer to your machine owner’s manual. Typically, Bissell machines call for 8 fl oz while other machines use 2.5 fl oz per gallon. The cleaning area also depends on the efficiency of your machine which can vary from machine to machine. Our products are approved for use in ANY full-size deep cleaning carpet cleaning machine including BISSELL®, HOOVER®, DIRT DEVIL® and rental machines such as RUG DOCTOR®.

Q6. Can Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners be used on wool carpets oriental rugs or other fabrics?

A: Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners were designed to be effective and safe for use on most carpets, rugs and upholstery. Certain wool carpets need special care and may require professional cleaning. We recommend following the manufacturer’s fabric cleaning instructions and performing a colorfast test on a small, inconspicuous area of the carpet, rug or upholstery prior to use and examine when dry (see back label of bottle for instructions). If color is affected, do not use. For upholstery, check the manufacturer’s cleanability tag. Use on fabrics coded ”WS” or ”W”. If you see a ”X” or ”S”, do not use. Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners are not recommended for use on velvet, silk, vinyl, leather, linen or100% cotton upholstery. Use only in full-size carpet cleaning machines.

Q7. What if Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners comes into contact with my eyes or skin?

A: As with any detergent-type product, it is recommended to avoid contact with eyes or skin (see Cautions statement on back panel of packaging). In case of eye contact, flush thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. In case of skin contact, wash with water. If irritation persists, consult your physician. If product is ingested, we suggest you contact your physician or poison control center. KEEP THIS PRODUCT OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

Q8. Are Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners safe for my dog or cat?

A: Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners are safe even if your dog or cat walks on the carpet after it is cleaned.

Q9. How long will it take for the carpet, rug or upholstery to dry after using Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaner?

A: Drying time is dependent on several variables including the material cleaned, how much liquid is applied, efficiency of the machine, humidity in the air (time of year), carpet pile (short or deep), etc. In general, we recommend letting the carpet dry at least a few hours or perhaps overnight to ensure complete dryness. If carpet feels moist to the touch, do not use the cleaned carpet, rug or upholstery until it is completely dry.

Q10. Is there an expiration date on these products?

A: Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners have a shelf life of at least 2 years.

Q11. Why is the product concentrated?

A: Concentrated formulas are better for the environment, and are smaller and more convenient. Importantly, they use less plastic and resources to make and ship the bottles, and less plastic is sent to landfills. The 2X formulation is a readily bio-degradable detergent (no heavy metals, phosphates, or dyes) and the recyclable bottle also contains a minimum of 25% post consumer recycled plastic.

Q12. How much Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaner do I add to my full-size deep cleaning machine?

A: Use Febreze 2X Concentrated Carpet, Rug & Upholstery Cleaners according to your machine instructions (see Instructions on back label of bottle). If you have an older full-size deep cleaning carpet machine and use of 2X concentrated formulas is not indicated in your machine operating manual, check with the manufacturer for the amount of a 2X concentrated formula to use.

Q13. How often should I clean my carpet, rug and upholstery?

A: We recommend a thorough deep cleaning of your carpet, rug and upholstery about 2 to 3 times per year, especially on high traffic areas or in the event of a spot or spill that occurs.
